This is my cat Smokey!

Atlas shrugged 2

It looks like they are actually making atlas shrugged part II, I never thought it would get made after seeing the first part, but it seems like they have re-cast dagny taggart? that seems pretty odd in a two part film to recast the leading roll mid way through, that would be like watching a movie and half way though they changed the actor to someone else? I’m sure part II will be just as bad as the first movie, but I still can’t wait to see the secret village of smart people.

Kisstixx

My friend and I are devoted shark tank viewers and she had to try the Kisstixx chapstick after seeing it on the show, it’s supposed to cause a reaction on your lips when you kiss someone wearing it, but she said that after using it, she did not get the tingly sensation that they promised.

Dream Craft Room

I’ve been seeing craft rooms on Pinterest and I really want to set up a proper arts and crafts space in the house. At least some shelves or something over my desk to hold supplies. I want a rod for ribbon spools (even though I don’t have much ribbon), I want a standing height craft counter, I want a million organized bins to store things in all labeled. A glass front cabinet where you can bask in the glory of organization. The list goes on and on.

Getting Rid of Old Clothes

getting-rid-of-old-clothes

If you go through your closet, don’t you find that there are clothes that you just don’t like anymore, that were uncomfortable to wear when you wore them last, or that are worn out, have holes, or got ruined in the wash, or have stains? All these type of things it should be easy to get rid of! I know there are a lot of clothes in my closet that I haven’t worn in years and have no intention of wearing.

I read on a blog somewhere that you should put all your clothes on their hangers backwards. When you wear them and wash them, put them back away turned the right way. Then, after a few months, you have an accurate picture of which clothes you are using and which you aren’t. But sometimes you don’t need to come up with a project to determine that you aren’t using things. Also, it’s harder to keep at something if you make a huge project out of it, maybe just look through a few things at a time and if you find something that meets the above criteria, get rid of it. The hanger thing is a good idea, I just think adding another layer of “work” to something might be more “work” than is needed. Also, I have some clothes I don’t wear or can’t fit into, but I never know when I might need them again, so I just keep the stuff that I know I really liked or still like, and then give away things I never use, but that are still wearable, or cut up old worn out things for household rags.

And if your not sure about something, put it on right now! Wear it for a day and see if you still like it.

What are they thinking

Do you know Keurig came out with some new machine that DOESN’T use K-cups, they have some new kind of bigger cup called the vue that the thing uses. I think that’s the stupidest move that they could have made for their company. After they worked for years to get K-cups into almost everywhere, NOW they expect people to switch to something else, that’s like they are starting all over again!

I tried a new Donut Shop k-cup coffee in the flavor Mocha Coconut. The mocha coconut don’t taste like Mocha OR coconut, really. They don’t taste BAD, but they just don’t really have much flavor. Also the regular old green mountain limited edition coconut, I think they lessened the amount of flavor or something, because they also didn’t taste like much.

LG Optimus Elite

I’ve decided to switch to Virgin Mobile when my current cell phone contract is up. Apparently they have unlimited web, text & 300 voice minutes for only $35 dollars a month. I’ve also read that if you buy a phone and don’t activate it, you can still use mobile hotspots and wi-fi to use the web and apps which is really why I want to get the smartphone for 24×7 everywhere internet access. I was about to go get a phone (the LG Optimus V was going to be my choice) tomorrow, but now I just searched online and found out that a newer model is going to be released in May called the LG Optimus Elite. I haven’t had a smart phone yet, this is going to be my first one, so I’m not sure whether I should stick to the original plan to try one out before my regular phone’s contract is up, or wait for this newer phone in a month and then just cancel and switch right away. I’m not a “techy” person per say, but I don’t want to be outdated when I finally make the jump to “new” technology!

Vegetable Lasagna

Vegetable Lasagna

I ended up making the Vegetable Lasagna the other day, and it was amazing! I’ll definitely make it again. Other things I’ve cooked recently: Chicken Ragout (bad), Mushroom Risotto (yumtastic) and a vegetable pasta dish with zucchini and mushrooms (also good!).

The Hunger Games

I just got back from seeing the hunger games movie, it’s the first movie I’ve seen in a while. Myself and two friends who all read the novels went together. We all thought it was very much like the book, however, I only really thought the first book was any good, the actors all did a good job, who was that tall drink of water who played the game master Seneca, meow, he was intoxicating! Loved his blue blue eyes.  Wow I just looked him up on IMDB, his name is Wes Bentley and I knew I remembered him from somewhere, he was also in American Beauty.

Can’t Decide What to Make

I’m trying to decide between two dishes to make tomorrow. Either I want to do this Vegetable Lasagna – but I’ve made veggie lasagna twice before and it’s never been as good as the time I had it in Disney World at one of those murder mystery shows. I’ve always longed for that veggie lasagna. I’ve tried it just making regular lasagna, but substituting veggies instead of meat, but it was always just okay. Then one time I made a recipe from scratch including the noodles, but that one used a lot of onions and cottage cheese and had a white sauce and it didn’t taste like lasagna at all. I would have called it something else entirely. I like that in the recipe I’m considering it roasts the veggies first. And I’m desperate for mushrooms lately.
The other thing I have a recipe for in a cookbook is a French Chicken & Olive Ragout. I’ve always wanted to make something with green olives in it! Because I LOVE green olives, but recipes usually call for black. So, I’m drawn to this recipe because I saw it uses green olives and turnips, which I’ve been wanting to try again, the last time I had turnips was about 6 years ago!

I’ll probably make both things eventually, but I can’t decide which to make first!
